Il terrazzo
Usiamo questo spazio tutto l'anno: rende il caffè mattutino, i tramonti serali e le cene molto più piacevoli. Ecco un paio di suggerimenti per aiutarti a godertelo al massimo
TERRACE WALL LIGHTS

There are wall lights around the Terrace,
They turn on from a switches on the wall:
Behind the Shutters to Casa Guido and
On the wall column for Casa Giorgio
TERRACE FAIRY LIGHTS

The Terrace fairy lights are programmed to turn on at 6pm and off again at 1am. If you need to do anything different you can simply touch the side of the plug socket to switch to manual
UMBRELLA

The Umbrella makes a great vibe, but must always be closed when you leave the house, we occasionally get freak gusts and umbrellas have flown! There is a black velcro belt strap to secure it in the closed position.
To open it you need to be a bit patient as it tends to bump on the table or chairs.
SWIVELLING THE UMBRELLA

There is quite a useful feature at the base of the umbrella that allows you to swivel to cover the seating area or again to cover the dining area. Just squish down with your foot and swivel the umbrella into position.
RAIN

When it does eventually rain it comes down in buckets! It would soooo wonderful if you managed to store the cushions in their cushion bins in the shed. It avoids the next guests getting a wet bottom :-)
IRRIGATION

There is an automatic irrigation system that kicks in at 3am and 6am. If you are up and about you might hear a bit of a gurgle
ETHANOL FIRE PLACE (Casa Guido)

If it’s not hot enough for you on the terrace there is is a white ethanol fireplace in the kitchen. There is also a bottle of ethanol fuel under the sink. One bottle lasts a couple of hours. And of course it's a flammable liquid, be cautious. Please make sure you move the fireplace to a well ventilated space. Someone once tried to light it in its store space. Yup, didn't end well.
BUILDING TREMORS

While you are chilling on the terrace you might get the occasional building tremor. Friends from the West Coast might jump to the wrong conclusion. It is actually caused by the passing trains in the metro that runs nearby. A bit disconcerting but all safe and sound
TERRACE HEATER

We don't all speak Italian .. so here is a quick lesson
Close - Chiuso - so twist in the direction of the C arrow to turn OFF the gas tank.
Open - Aperto - so twist in the direction of the A arrow to turn ON the gas tank.
TERRACE HEATER

There is a very cool (or rather hot) gas mushroom heater on the terrace. It actually works pretty well and will keep your winter aperitivo's nice and toasty. A gas canister costs 30 euros and gives around 15 hours of burn time.
If you'd like to use it we can make sure you find one plugged in and ready to go for your arrival.
After turning on the gas from the canister you need to turn-push-click where it says "pilot" and you will see the pilot flame light up. You then need to turn and un-push round to the High/Low setting. I have found that you need to do this quite quickly otherwise the pilot light goes out. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.
GAS HEATER meets UMBRELLA: 1-0

Guess what? The Heater gets hot. Seems the umbrella doesn't like to get too close.
ENJOY

Terrace vibe even in the winter :-)
