Hotel Forum Panoramic Roof Garden
https://www.hotelforum.com/en/
Via Tor de’ Conti, 25
Ok, this place probably has one of the mos OMG views in Rome. And they know it. The food is good but you are paying for the view. Top Tip ... there is an aperitivo bar right onto of the roof - get the view but leave hungry.
When you go into the hotel stroll knowingly down past reception to the lifts and hit the Roof button ..... kinda obvious I guess
Ar Galletto

Piazza Farnese, 104
Lunch spot just off Campo dei Fiori
some say its gone a bit up market, but probably the best carbonara in town (well, I think so)
Giggetto
Via del Portico d'Ottavia, 21/a
One of Rome's oldest restaurants serving typical food from the Jewish quarter of Rome. I haven't been for a while ... but it's been there for years .... great garden too if the weather is ok for al fresco
Roscioli

Piazza Benedetto Cairoli, 16
Telephone: +39 066880 3914
Evolved from a cool salami eatery to a full on everything with big emphasis on quality ingredients and good wine. Stop by for an apperitivo (the one with great nibbles) and then end up staying all evening and having dinner! Or you can just do breakfast at the bar. Worth booking if you are a a group.
Flavio al Veloavevodetto
https://www.ristorantevelavevodetto.it/index_en.html
Via di Monte Testaccio, 97
Chef Flavio is known as the Carbonara King of Rome.
Do I need to say anymore? (the restaurant name literally translates as "I told you so")
He even shares his recipe and technique if you want to create one of Rome's most famous dishes in our kitchen ....

Trattoria Da Teo
https://www.facebook.com/Trattoria.da.TEO/
Piazza dei Ponziani, 7
The real deal down in Trastevere. A corner of calm among the chaos. True Roman menu and a wonderful almost romantic vibe. Definitely worth checking out
Armando al Pantheon
https://www.armandoalpantheon.it
Salita de’ Crescenzi 31
Down near the Pantheon. You will be rubbing shoulders with Rome's VIP's while almost testing your new credit card limits. But the place is a Roman institution. Still family run and still very good. Book (even months in advance) only online, and only after having read the small print !
Checco er Carrettiere
https://www.checcoercarettiere.it/en/checco-er-carettiere/
Via Benedetta, 10
Telephone: 06 5817018
One for the history books. Hidden in Trastevere. This place has been around since 1935. The Dolce Vita wafted straight through this place as you can see from the many celeb photos on the wall. A very old Roman vibe. I haven't been for a while but I'm sure it won't have changed much!
da Valentino
Via del Boschetto, 37
Telephone: 06 4880643
Dont be put off by the rather anonymous exterior. inside is the real deal. Ive been eating here for 30 years. Last time I was there the waiter was the founder's grandson. This family run place offers simple but great Roman food. But you will probably have to book as the secret is out ... among the real Romans :-)
p.s. this is NOT the Birreria Peroni (which is kinda fun too) - although many social media posts get them confused due to the vintage artwork above the door
